Shock & Awe Our Custom Made Rocket Car
Shock & Awe isn't just a car — it's a rolling piece of American history, sculpted in metal and speed.
Born from the imagination of Los Angeles artist and custom car legend Baron Margo, Shock & Awe fuses aviation and automotive DNA into a machine that commands attention. Its sleek body was once a 600-gallon belly tank on a McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom — the iconic Cold War fighter jet that ruled the skies for the Navy and Marine Corps. Its windshield comes from the North American F-86 Sabre, the legendary swept-wing fighter that dominated the Korean War.
Underneath, the soul of a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette roars — a 350-horsepower engine propelling it to 141 mph across the California salt flats. Inside, it bristles with gauges and lights pulled from American muscle and classic aircraft alike, a tribute to a golden age of engineering.
Measuring nearly 21 feet and weighing just 800 pounds, Shock & Awe is a marvel of craftsmanship, with engineering flourishes like synchronized front fenders and wheels that turn in unison. Built between 2000 and 2004, it was the first of Baron Margo’s large-scale aircraft aluminum masterpieces, marking the beginning of a new chapter in custom automotive art.
Shock & Awe isn’t just a vehicle. It’s a journey through America's past — and a rocket ride into imagination.
